Very happy with this laptop By Matt
Purchased this to replace a 3-yr old Asus ROG laptop that had the 870M GPU. I was expecting a modest performance increase with the 1060, and I liked the fact that I could use the Thunderbolt 3 port to connect to an external GPU if I wanted to improve the graphics performance. The G5 has exceeded my expectations to the point that I don't feel the need to get that eGPU. I purchased the G5 along with the Dell Ultrasharp 38" 21:9 monitor. The primary game that I play is WoW. It's not a very graphics-intensive game, but I'll put my experience in as a reference anyway. On the old laptop connected to a 1920x1080 monitor I had to set the graphics to a max of 7 (aka Good) in order to get an acceptable fps. When I connected it to the 38" monitor running at 3840x1600 I had to lower the settings to 4 (aka Fair). With the G5, I can set the graphics options to 10 (Ultra) and I'm still seeing acceptable frame rates.

I love this laptop By James.exe
this laptop is a great blend of both a business and gaming it has a good color scheme the red on the black model is really subtle and gives a nice look to the device . The cooling system is very impressive thought a bit on the loud side it keeps the internals of the computer cool in most scenario's of heavy load . it has a very solid build structure with close to no flex across the entire device . overall this device is the best laptop I've had and I hope it will last me 3-5 years at least but its held up well the first few weeks

excellent computer in the price range By Alfredo
I have with my laptop in my first two months, I must say that I am very satisfied with my purchase, you also have to say that you are paying, a team that for its price has powerful hardware features, of course, knowing that everything is perfect, with components 1, screen, is, however, not a fantastic practice for the level of the screens we have today, 2. portability, we must be aware that we are compiling a PC game therefore, it will be heavy for the current times, additionally although the computer has a 15.6-inch screen has a significant frame which makes it a large laptop. 3. Noisy fans, you can not lie, the fans when the laptop is under stress if they are noisy, however I consider it understandable, since we have the pg. The minimum time in common situations. 4. Battery, like the other points is an information that you must know when buying your equipment, this equipment has a fairly average battery that does not stand out, 5. Plastic casing, at this point I am positively surprised, I really I was expecting a team almost entirely made of plastic, but I was surprised that it has a lot of metal, the surface of the keyboard and the touchpad as well as the sides are in the metallic finish, the rear and front grilles are plastic, although of a rather high quality, the 100 % The touch screen is the screen. The touchscreen. The touchscreen. 6. TouchPad, it's good even if it's a bit annoying when you select and move at the same time (this is a personal opinion). In the end I have not talked about its hardware characteristics and these are very well explained in the product description. To finish, the reason why he has not given the total of stars is because of sporadic failures that he has presented, very rare and really not so significant even in my case they took them into account, for example on one occasion the touchpad It stops working, additionally on repeated occasions the led of the "Mayus" key stops working, although it should always be continued. For my part, very happy with my purchase, I recommend 100% for these price ranges that want the best possible laptop, highlighting this computer of course your gtx 1060 Max-Q graphics card and I think the best feature that takes into account its price .

Dell G5 By Jo
I purchased the BLK version of the G5 that comes with the Intel Core i5-8300H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with Max-Q Design 6GB, 16GB RAM, 256 GB SSD + 1TB Storage. Walmart has other configurations. The other configuration is the Dell G5 Gaming Laptop 15.6" Full HD, Intel Core i7-8750H, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, 1TB HDD + 128GB SSD Storage, 8GB RAM, G5587-7037RED-PUS. I chose to have an upgraded GPU (1060) and a 16GB RAM instead of the 8GB ram and 1050ti. I'm not too worried about the CPU because I won't really notice the difference. Your getting more bang for your buck with this laptop since it is less than a grand. I am happy with my purchase.

G5 5587 was the right choice By Doug9559
I had two 5 year old laptops in use, one for astronomy and one for general use. Both needed more memory and processing power although they had 1TB hard drives. I wanted to replace these with one machine with an SSD drive for programs but couldn't find a laptop with a big enough drive. The G5 with it's 512Gb SSD plus 1TB hard drive suited my purposes, also with good graphics for photo processing, a good processor and a reasonable amount of RAM (16GB). I haven't regretted the purchase and all is working well. I had a few issues with the 4K screen and a couple of programs. Usually going into Properties, Compatibility and Change high DPI settings fixed things - except for Photoshop, for which I have to change the resolution to 1600x900!! There is an intermittent buzzing noise which seems well documented online, if this gets worse I'll need to contact support.
